Bang Bang Pie and Biscuits, what more could you need?

Hello Food Lovers!

Upon our second voyage to Chicago, we discovered this quaint joint called Bang Bang Pie and Biscuits, located just outside of downtown.

When arriving you will find plenty of on street parking (awesome right?). The little restaurant has a cute black and white striped covering.

We went here in the afternoon and found the place to relaxed, and we we’re greeted as soon as we entered with smiling faces.

Bang bang pie and biscuits, is just as it seems. They offer Biscuit sandwiches, and pie!

We decided to each try a Biscuit and skipped on the pie, for now~

As for my biscuit I went with the Bacon.

The bacon biscuit comes with candied bacon, collard greens, hot sauce, and a sunny egg.

When presented with our food we couldn’t help but notice how pretty it looked. I loved how beautiful the egg on mine was presented. The biscuit appeared nice and golden, and the bacon especially delicious.

It was my first time trying collard greens. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about them, and also had heard that hot sauce definitely helps bring down their strong flavor. That being said- I’m also not a big fan of hot sauce in particular.

When I took my first bite, I was actually surprised. I did not hate, nor love them. They we’re simply “okay” to me, and what I had heard was true. Hot sauce definitely goes along with them perfectly.

As for the entire dish together, it was great! The biscuit was out of this world. The egg cooked perfectly. The bacon cooked to a crisp. I enjoyed every bite.

Seth went with the Ham Biscuit.
The Ham Biscuit was also pretty simple.

It came with Bang Bang’s maple glazed ham, caramelized onion relish, dijon butter & side of house pickle. He enjoyed his dish as well. We would both love to try more options when we make our way back into the windy city.

So if you’re ever in the Chicago area and looking for a cool, mellow, breakfast place we would definitely recommend Bang Bang. Their menu is simple and straight to the point, as well as their flavors!

Thanks Bang Bang, you sure do make a bang! (we know, we’re cheesy.. get over it)

Till we eat again,
Tasty!

Roosters, it's an Ohio thing!

We are so proud to be from Ohio for so many reasons, and Roosters being one of them!  Roosters is a restaurant that only 'Ohioans' or Ohio visitors know about. It's not a five star fancy schmansy restaurant, just a tasty and fun place to eat at on a weekend or after a long days work. The famous slogan really speaks for itself "A fun, casual, joint", but it doesn't happen to mention the delicious food they have available!  We are regular Rooster customers, we usually go a couple of times a month. We usually stick with our favorites from the menu, but you really can't go wrong with anything they have to offer. Whether it's the loaded nachos, a burger, or their tender boneless wings dipped in your choice of TOP OF THE LINE wing sauce, you wont be disappointed. Most of the time we go with the boneless wings drenched in tangy sweet Thai chili sauce. The quality of the meat is unbeatable, but the big kicker for us is the sauce. The sweet

Breakfast Time at Table 1

Being Ohio natives we were happy to find an independent restaurant near us. It had Great decor, and the restaurant itself had a visually fun and hip/modern look (no surprise here.. most small businesses take this role). The lighting was at a relaxing level, they placed numbers above the tables to try and give a unique look. Enough about the decor though, lets move on to the important Tids! First things first, drink options. They had a small variety of drinks offering the usual selections - Soda, Water, Tea, O-J, Milk. We decided on getting the Cola, because we had a long drive ahead - we were headed for Amish Country in Millersburg OH. (Blog soon to come..) Our server seemed to be lacking some energy that day as well, I mean it was Saturday. She brought our drinks and we were surprised to see more than a simple cup, Coca-cola served to you in a jar! Enough mumbo about the drinks though, onward to the main course. We both opted for The eggs Benedict. We were unsure o

The Ale House May be Good for Whatever Ails You

All of you Ohio natives out there, if you havent been to Ale house 1890 in Lancaster Ohio you are definitely missing out. They have wonderful hamburgers and so many to menu items to choose from! All of these burgers are specially made with their own selection of fresh ingredients. They definitely know their way around a burger! They also have new specials  pretty frequently such as fried macoroni! (See review for fried Macoroni below!) so go in and don't miss them! Ale House 1890 Our first pick from the menu was the Barnyard Burger.  Barnyard Burger This burger was an absolute taste masterpiece! The first bite I took I could immediately taste the sweetness of marmalade and the grilled taste of the patty which collided with each other creating a  wonderful taste combination. The garlic aoli was a nice touch to the burger as well, better than mayonnaise if you ask me! Also the micro greens was a great bonus to an already delcious sandwich. And what is better on a b
