Bourbon, burgers, and Bar Louie!

This restaurant may sound familiar to some. We've eaten here before and have never been disappointed with the food or service. Stop into Bar Louie for some great food and and a great late night type of atmosphere, or maybe just after doing a little shopping in the mall.

                  Bourbon Bacon Burger

Just by looking at the special limited time menu of this burger and many other special sandwiches alike, we knew this burger would be incredibly flavorful. A beautifully cooked meat patty deserves nothing better than a beautifully crafted sauce and delcious toppings to back them up. A perfect meat patty topped with cheddar cheese, bacon, a delcious bourbon sauce and a nice stack of fried onion straws... It's making my mouth water just thinking about it...

Unsurprisingly, the look of the burger was astonishing. The juicy patty had a decent portion of crispy onion straws that make the presentation really stick out. The first bite I took I could taste the delcious bourbon sauce very well, it had an original sweet and tangy flavor that had a perfect amount of heat and a hefty richness that gave the entire sandwich its own personality if you will.

If you liked the sauce as much as we did they give you a small cup of this sauce on the side in case you want to get a saucier bite, I thought that was very generous. The meat patty itself was cooked exactly how it was requested. The patty had that delcious smoky grill flavor along with the outer crispiness with juicy center that we were hoping for. The soft bun and crispy onion straws made it all the better, the onions were a terrific bonus on top of the already delcious ingredients. And not to mention the crispy strips of bacon that lay on top of the onion straws.

Bacon, onions and bourbon are a classic combaination that is just plain tasty. I would have added nothing to this burger!

                        Loaded Tater Tots

At Bar Louie you have the option to choose from fries or tater tots and with that being said you also get another option to have them loaded. The loaded tots may just be a side dish, but they were definitely worth a spot in this review.

The tots were loaded with cheese sauce, bacon, green onion and pickled veggies. The cheese was tasty, not too sharp but had plenty of flavor. The bacon was great because who doesn't love bacon. Probably the most clever thing about the loaded tots was the pickled vegetables. These veggies were a mix of peppers, celery, and olives. Not only were the veggies tasty and tangy, but they added such an extra something to every other component in the dish. The tanginess of the vegetables slithered through every other ingredient in perfect measurements in every bite. The heat of these vegetables balanced well with the mildness of the cheese and the tots. They were unlike any other loaded potatoes we've ever had.

This will certainly not be our last stop at Bar Louie! Thanks for the awesome food!

Until next time, TASTY!

Noodlecat's Dream Buns

If you're strolling through downtown Cleveland we hope you stumble into Noodlecat . Located on Euclid Ave, you will be surrounded by a few different popular restaurants, don't be shy! Try them all! From our experience you can't go wrong. Noodlecat serves up three main options noodles, buns, and veggies. Unfortunately we did not come for noodles on this visit, we came for the Japanese Steam Buns! We picked 2 of the 5 bun options they had available and went with the J-fried Chicken bun and the Fresh bacon bun. These Buns are Japanese white bread sandwiches each topped with lettuce and pickle. For the J-fried Chicken Bun, this soft steam bun has a piece of fried chicken, sweet and spicy power ketchup. At first bite you're in love. The fresh steam buns are amazing. The chicken was crispy, tangy, and delicious but it was no match for the next bun that we tried! The Fresh Bacon Bun was filled with a delicious slice of lightly smoked, sugar ...

Screendoor, What Mo' Could'ya Ask Fo'

On our Oregon vacation and exploration, we headed out to a specific well known location for breakfast. Screendoor Much like many old fashion restaurants, Screendoor in Portland Oregon is extremely popular. The vibe of the restaurant is very positive, and the decor and atmosphere is warm and makes you feel at home. The lighting of the restaurant is very soft on a beautiful autumn Portland morning, and nothing goes better with a crisp cool fall day than delicious breakfast. We browsed the simple menu, and selected our meals quickly. We had a big day ahead of us. Seth opted for their famous chicken and waffle dish, while I on the other hand went with the Texas Veggie Migas. (I can't ever pass up a good Mexican classic) Chicken and Waffles The presentation of the dish was impressive, the orange peal on top of the portions of breakfast goodness was a gorgeous touch. The chicken was absolutely homemade, hand breaded, and cooked to perfection.  The flavor of the ch...
