Pittsburgh Excursion: Waffles Incaffeinated

Me and my fiance love travel. And since we only live a short three hour drive to Pittsburgh, we decided to take a minication there over a weekend. I had also heard Pittsburgh is a foodie's dream come true. And I was not disappointed. Our first stop was Waffles Incaffeinated. And it was delicious.

When we arrived we had decided we wanted to try something both sweet and savory. We ended up waiting in line here for about 30 minutes. It was worth the wait. My choice was the "Funky Monkey"

So now you're probably wondering what all this beautiful waffle incorporates. The inside of the waffle was filled with chocolate chips, and it also has a peanut butter chiffon on top (the best thing like ever)..(no, seriously), and then it was also topped with bananas, powdered sugar, and a light chocolate drizzle. The BEST waffle I have ever had.

Next in line, our savory pick. We chose the Southern waffle. This waffle was filled with a spicy chorizo sausage and cheddar cheese. Upon the top was fresh pico, jalapeño, and we decided to go with the poached eggs. (You get to decide which kind of eggs you would like, typically they use fried) Along the side they placed a small dollop of sour cream. It was beautifully constructed.

And last, but DEFINITELY not least, we had decided to order a side of potatoes. These were soooo flavorful. They did not need salt nor ketchup. All in all this place was very good. And I was really impressed. We also did not use the syrup that was brought out to us, the waffles were too good! I do believe they make their own syrup as well!

Bourbon, burgers, and Bar Louie!

This restaurant may sound familiar to some. We've eaten here before and have never been disappointed with the food or service. Stop into Bar Louie for some great food and and a great late night type of atmosphere, or maybe just after doing a little shopping in the mall. Bourbon Bacon Burger Just by looking at the special limited time menu of this burger and many other special sandwiches alike, we knew this burger would be incredibly flavorful. A beautifully cooked meat patty deserves nothing better than a beautifully crafted sauce and delcious toppings to back them up. A perfect meat patty topped with cheddar cheese, bacon, a delcious bourbon sauce and a nice stack of fried onion straws... It's making my mouth water just thinking about it... Noodlecat's Dream Buns

If you're strolling through downtown Cleveland we hope you stumble into Noodlecat . Located on Euclid Ave, you will be surrounded by a few different popular restaurants, don't be shy! Try them all! From our experience you can't go wrong. Noodlecat serves up three main options noodles, buns, and veggies. Unfortunately we did not come for noodles on this visit, we came for the Japanese Steam Buns! We picked 2 of the 5 bun options they had available and went with the J-fried Chicken bun and the Fresh bacon bun. These Buns are Japanese white bread sandwiches each topped with lettuce and pickle. For the J-fried Chicken Bun, this soft steam bun has a piece of fried chicken, sweet and spicy power ketchup. At first bite you're in love. The fresh steam buns are amazing. Tasty Tidbitt meets Tasty Made

Being owned by Chipotle, Tasty Made is a new burger joint with their first location being built in Lancaster, Ohio. So for the simple fact that we are Ohioans and Chipotle fans, we were very excited for this review and to be one of the first food blogs to review the Tasty Made restaurant. To start off, the decor and atmosphere of the restaurant is much like a Five Guys restaurant with a lot of red and white. It's not really what you expect when you think of Chipotle walking in. The menu was very small which isn't always a bad thing in a restaurant, especially a new one. There is nothing worse than a menu that is simply too large. The menu is basically the Tasty Made Original Burger, Cheeseburger, Hamburger, fresh made fries, milkshakes and sodas. All of the burgers can be ordered with an extra patty, called a double.
