Breakfast Time at Table 1

Being Ohio natives we were happy to find an independent restaurant near us. It had Great decor, and the restaurant itself had a visually fun and hip/modern look (no surprise here.. most small businesses take this role). The lighting was at a relaxing level, they placed numbers above the tables to try and give a unique look. Enough about the decor though, lets move on to the important Tids! First things first, drink options. They had a small variety of drinks offering the usual selections - Soda, Water, Tea, O-J, Milk. We decided on getting the Cola, because we had a long drive ahead - we were headed for Amish Country in Millersburg OH. (Blog soon to come..) Our server seemed to be lacking some energy that day as well, I mean it was Saturday. She brought our drinks and we were surprised to see more than a simple cup, Coca-cola served to you in a jar! Enough mumbo about the drinks though, onward to the main course. We both opted for The eggs Benedict. We were unsure o...

Sweets for Cheaps!

Short snippet of a cute little bakery and cake shop we stumbled into today while doing a little shopping. Capital City Cakes, Grove City OH This was our first time here, and we kind of had difficulty finding it. We called the number listed online, and they were helpful enough to get us going in the right direction, although they closed within the half hour. To my surprise when we found the small bakery it was quite welcoming. They had a few small glass display cases set up and we decided to try a few random things since we weren't sure what we would enjoy the most! Pictured below: pistachio lemon cupcake  I'm a big fan of nearly anything pistachio. So upon first glance I decided I had to have one of these. The woman who was getting the items reassured me that it was really good. So I was excited to try it. It wasn't the best cupcake that I've had, and maybe not even in the top cupcakes that I've been able to try. I was slightly dis...

Take a crack at these eggs!

Over the summer we took a small road trip to the countryside of Kentucky. We usually plan what restaurants we intend to visit before we leave, and this one was a great edition. Wild Eggs. So let's crack into the review! We are  going to start things off with the Breakfast Nachos. The dish consisted of a generous plate of corn tortilla chips topped with re-fried beans, shredded chicken (with the choice of another meat if requested), jalapeƱos, green onion, pico de gallo, chipotle queso hollandaise, sour cream, one scoop of guacamole and a fried egg of course! (Egg can be cooked your way) Nothing tops off a nice savory dish like a delicious egg yolk! Have you ever heard of a better plate of nachos than that? Breakfast and nachos are a great mix. I wouldn't have changed anything. Not to mention, the presentation looked awesome! Samii ordered Wild Eggs most famous dish, Kalamity Katie's Border Benedict! Wild Eggs really did well on this one. This dish was a ...

Dogma... Miami knows it's weiners

Miami. One word, hot. Over the summer we decided we wanted to travel to southern Florida to escape boring Ohio. And we did. We weren't too sure of what restaurants to try on our trip, but I had a few places in mind, Dogma being one of them. We came across this place, Dogma Grill on Yelp and at first glance we thought it seemed like a hip, cool place to get lunch or maybe a quick dinner. This was actually one of the last restaurants we had visited on our trip to Miami, and possibly the best.  Here is a quick glimpse of what we received. I ordered a BLT, and the gorgeous pile of onion rings. While Seth decided to take a different route and order the Chicago style foot-long with a side of fries. I mean realistically, who wouldn't want a hot-dog from a place that sells hot-dogs predominately?  I guess I just like to make things complicated.      As for my selection of the BLT, it was pretty good. They didn't skimp out on the bacon. The tomatoes we...

Pittsburgh Excursion: Waffles Incaffeinated

Me and my fiance love travel. And since we only live a short three hour drive to Pittsburgh, we decided to take a minication there over a weekend. I had also heard Pittsburgh is a foodie's dream come true. And I was not disappointed. Our first stop was Waffles Incaffeinated. And it was delicious. When we arrived we had decided we wanted to try something both sweet and savory. We ended up waiting in line here for about 30 minutes. It was worth the wait. My choice was the "Funky Monkey"  So now you're probably wondering what all this beautiful waffle incorporates. The inside of the waffle was filled with chocolate chips, and it also has a peanut butter chiffon on top (the best thing like ever)..(no, seriously), and then it was also topped with bananas, powdered sugar, and a light chocolate drizzle. The BEST waffle I have ever had.  Next in line, our savory pick. We chose the Southern waffle. This waffle was filled with a spicy chorizo sausage and cheddar ch...
