It's the freakin' Katalina Wine Mixer

Okay, okay it's not really the wine mixer. It is just as tasty though.

Katalina's can be found in Columbus OH, on Pennsylvania Avenue. They are open for breakfast and brunch. We wish they would extend their hours- only because we want their food ALL THE TIME.

Their motto- Peace, Love, and Pancake Balls.
So appealing, am I right?

We found out about this very, very, little hot spot while on Instagram. After seeing all of the beautiful food this restaurant was offering up we swooped in for a taste.

When arriving at Katalina's be sure to watch for their parking lot. Don't be a goof and pay for parking like we did. They offer a public lot behind the restaurant and there are signs up stating you do not need to pay to park while at the restaurant. Unfortunately, we did not read these signs until after we had already paid. It's okay though, because the balls made up for it. Pancake balls that is.

Yes, you heard right. Pancake balls.

After browsing over the menu while standing in line at the small restaurant we made our decisions very quickly. It was a Saturday morning and the place was absolutely packed. There was not much time to look the menu over, but we both ended up happy with our final decisions.

When our order was placed, we had to kind of stand and wait on a table to open up. Seating is first come first serve. No one will help you get a table. We had a group of 4, and had been there waiting on a table before another group had and they swooped a table before we did. So again, pay attention!

Anyways, after all the chaos, we were finally seated and at the window bar. (YES! Because, great lighting for photos) We didn't have to wait long after seated for our food to be brought out.

As mentioned earlier, I went with Katalina's famous pancake balls

The pancake balls were so, so, so, good. They are filled with Nutella and have powdered sugar generously sprinkled over them. Also served with their own take on Bacon- spicy maple. It was also a real treat.

Seth went with something a little less sugary.

Katalina's Award Winning Breakfast Tacos

Served with three beautifully created tacos these were also a hit. The tacos actually won First-place in  a contest for the City of Columbus!

What is in them you may ask? Well let me tell you- three white corn Koki's tortillas filled with Katalina's housemade chorizo, scrambled eggs, tomatillo, avocado, queso fresco, Snowville crema, and of course pico de gallo.

The goodness doesn't stop there though. It is also served with Elote Cuban Cob corn.

Seth loved every single bite. I also tried the tacos as well, and I must say they were delightful.

If we had to pick a few places we loved in Columbus for breakfast or brunch, we would definitely have Katalina's on the list. Such great flavors and also fun and affordable. We would prefer to try going during the middle of the week though, in hopes for them to be a little less packed and more room!

Thank you Katalina!
Till next time, Tasty~

Roosters, it's an Ohio thing!

We are so proud to be from Ohio for so many reasons, and Roosters being one of them!  Roosters is a restaurant that only 'Ohioans' or Ohio visitors know about. It's not a five star fancy schmansy restaurant, just a tasty and fun place to eat at on a weekend or after a long days work. The famous slogan really speaks for itself "A fun, casual, joint", but it doesn't happen to mention the delicious food they have available!  We are regular Rooster customers, we usually go a couple of times a month. We usually stick with our favorites from the menu, but you really can't go wrong with anything they have to offer. Whether it's the loaded nachos, a burger, or their tender boneless wings dipped in your choice of TOP OF THE LINE wing sauce, you wont be disappointed. Most of the time we go with the boneless wings drenched in tangy sweet Thai chili sauce. The quality of the meat is unbeatable, but the big kicker for us is the sauce. The sweet

Breakfast Time at Table 1

Being Ohio natives we were happy to find an independent restaurant near us. It had Great decor, and the restaurant itself had a visually fun and hip/modern look (no surprise here.. most small businesses take this role). The lighting was at a relaxing level, they placed numbers above the tables to try and give a unique look. Enough about the decor though, lets move on to the important Tids! First things first, drink options. They had a small variety of drinks offering the usual selections - Soda, Water, Tea, O-J, Milk. We decided on getting the Cola, because we had a long drive ahead - we were headed for Amish Country in Millersburg OH. (Blog soon to come..) Our server seemed to be lacking some energy that day as well, I mean it was Saturday. She brought our drinks and we were surprised to see more than a simple cup, Coca-cola served to you in a jar! Enough mumbo about the drinks though, onward to the main course. We both opted for The eggs Benedict. We were unsure o

The Ale House May be Good for Whatever Ails You

All of you Ohio natives out there, if you havent been to Ale house 1890 in Lancaster Ohio you are definitely missing out. They have wonderful hamburgers and so many to menu items to choose from! All of these burgers are specially made with their own selection of fresh ingredients. They definitely know their way around a burger! They also have new specials  pretty frequently such as fried macoroni! (See review for fried Macoroni below!) so go in and don't miss them! Ale House 1890 Our first pick from the menu was the Barnyard Burger.  Barnyard Burger This burger was an absolute taste masterpiece! The first bite I took I could immediately taste the sweetness of marmalade and the grilled taste of the patty which collided with each other creating a  wonderful taste combination. The garlic aoli was a nice touch to the burger as well, better than mayonnaise if you ask me! Also the micro greens was a great bonus to an already delcious sandwich. And what is better on a b
