Donuts Galore

When visiting Portland Oregon, if there is one thing you cannot pass up, it would be the donut shops.

After trying to figure out which ones we were going to go to during our short time there we decided Voodoo was too famous to not go to, and Pip's. We decided on Pip's because they looked so sweet and small and delicate. We were also going to try and squeeze a third donut shop in, but unfortunately it wasn't possible.

VOODOO

Voodoo Doughnuts has some of the most beautiful, artsy, humorous and delicious doughnuts that we've had. They are very decently sized and very decently delcious! They have one of the best maple bacon Doughnuts out there and plenty other delicious ones to choose from. This is a must stop if you are in Portland, Oregon.

As you can see, this Choclaty fella may look mean but oh boy, was it delcious! We weren't even completely sure if this donut was going to have filling, it did not have filling but it DID NOT even need it! it was delcious exactly the way it was. The donut alone without all of the Choclate was cooked to perfection but the chocolate was a sweet plus to something already so tasty!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a doughnut straight out of a cartoon? Well, at Voodoo Doughnuts you can do just that, by ordering their famous Homer Simpson Doughnut! when you receive the doughnut it appears just as it does in the Simpsons franchise. Not only is the appearance of this legendary treat spot on, but the taste is unbelievable! The doughnut alone is as tasty as you would expect but the strawverry frosting gives it such a flavor that you can only find at Voodoo Doughnuts. No wonder Homer's mouth is always watering!

PIP'S

Pip's Doughnuts also located in Portland, Oregon is very different from any doughnut place in the United States. We love eating outside of the box and we were surprised to find out that this place was very unique and different from most doughnut shops.

We were lucky enough to go there on Seth's birthday so we were gladly given a free birthday dozen on the house! They had many special flavors, and they were all delicious. as you can see Nutella plays a big role at Pip's Doughnuts!

The assortment of flavors of these tiny doughy creations was phenomenol. The bacon doughnut was filled with what appeared to be bacon jam and it was unlike many doughnuts you would find. There was also a couple of different doughnuts that all had Nutella incorporated in them and each one was very sweet and tasty. The cinnamon doughnut was also great, especially for the fact that it was so simple.

Portland, Oregon knows how to make doughnuts, that's for sure. Both Voodoo and Pip's positively impressed us. We know that if we ever come back to Portland we know where we are going to get doughnuts!

Until our next food review! TASTY!

Roosters, it's an Ohio thing!

We are so proud to be from Ohio for so many reasons, and Roosters being one of them!  Roosters is a restaurant that only 'Ohioans' or Ohio visitors know about. It's not a five star fancy schmansy restaurant, just a tasty and fun place to eat at on a weekend or after a long days work. The famous slogan really speaks for itself "A fun, casual, joint", but it doesn't happen to mention the delicious food they have available!  We are regular Rooster customers, we usually go a couple of times a month. We usually stick with our favorites from the menu, but you really can't go wrong with anything they have to offer. Whether it's the loaded nachos, a burger, or their tender boneless wings dipped in your choice of TOP OF THE LINE wing sauce, you wont be disappointed. Most of the time we go with the boneless wings drenched in tangy sweet Thai chili sauce. The quality of the meat is unbeatable, but the big kicker for us is the sauce. The sweet

Breakfast Time at Table 1

Being Ohio natives we were happy to find an independent restaurant near us. It had Great decor, and the restaurant itself had a visually fun and hip/modern look (no surprise here.. most small businesses take this role). The lighting was at a relaxing level, they placed numbers above the tables to try and give a unique look. Enough about the decor though, lets move on to the important Tids! First things first, drink options. They had a small variety of drinks offering the usual selections - Soda, Water, Tea, O-J, Milk. We decided on getting the Cola, because we had a long drive ahead - we were headed for Amish Country in Millersburg OH. (Blog soon to come..) Our server seemed to be lacking some energy that day as well, I mean it was Saturday. She brought our drinks and we were surprised to see more than a simple cup, Coca-cola served to you in a jar! Enough mumbo about the drinks though, onward to the main course. We both opted for The eggs Benedict. We were unsure o

The Ale House May be Good for Whatever Ails You

All of you Ohio natives out there, if you havent been to Ale house 1890 in Lancaster Ohio you are definitely missing out. They have wonderful hamburgers and so many to menu items to choose from! All of these burgers are specially made with their own selection of fresh ingredients. They definitely know their way around a burger! They also have new specials  pretty frequently such as fried macoroni! (See review for fried Macoroni below!) so go in and don't miss them! Ale House 1890 Our first pick from the menu was the Barnyard Burger.  Barnyard Burger This burger was an absolute taste masterpiece! The first bite I took I could immediately taste the sweetness of marmalade and the grilled taste of the patty which collided with each other creating a  wonderful taste combination. The garlic aoli was a nice touch to the burger as well, better than mayonnaise if you ask me! Also the micro greens was a great bonus to an already delcious sandwich. And what is better on a b
