Brunch @ Milk Tooth

On our long, 8 hour, never ending journey to Missouri a few weeks ago we decided to stop midway in Indianapolis and grab brunch. Our restaurant of choice was Milktooth. Located right outside of the big inner city.

Milktooth

534 Virginia Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46203

Upon first glance, you see its a modern Indy style restaurant. With cute seating outside on their small patio, and string lights strung generously, it came together nicely. It was already getting warm outside so we decided to be seated inside.

The inside was comfortable. As for seating, there was an option to sit at the "milk bar", or you could also sit at tables, but booths were unfortunately not an option.

The menu was small, which is usually a good sign. Restaurants can become overwhelmed if the menu is too big for them to handle.

Usually when we're tossed the menu we scan through quickly and find exactly what we were looking for, but we were unsure of what we wanted to try.

To the left is one of the sections of the menu listing the main plates. They have selections you may not be able to find at many other restaurants such as porridge, and duck eggs.

As we waited on our food we were watching the array of food being brought out to near-by tables and it all looked really good!

We didn't wait too long, but during the wait we decided we would try one of the small plates they offered. We went with the BLT Danish.

Very odd but not disappointing. The Danish was topped with a bacon jam, heirloom cherry tomatoes, and fried leeks. The bacon jam took over most of the flavor of the Danish. The bacon jam was very different. At first we were confused by the bacon jam but when we finally realized what it was, we absolutely loved it.

For our main brunch course we chose the Sour Dough Pearl Sugar Waffle. Just the name alone should explain some of its deliciousness. Made
with fresh plums and blueberries that were sweet yet tangy,  they accompanied the waffle almost seamlessly. The tang of the fruit balanced out the sweetness of the waffle. It had a nice crispness on the outside and was moist and fluffy on the inside. They didn't over do it with syrup, which was nice because it let us get a good idea of what the Waffle itself had to offer in terms of flavor.

If you're craving something that is different and outside the box, this is the place for you!

Until next Monday, TASTY

Roosters, it's an Ohio thing!

We are so proud to be from Ohio for so many reasons, and Roosters being one of them!  Roosters is a restaurant that only 'Ohioans' or Ohio visitors know about. It's not a five star fancy schmansy restaurant, just a tasty and fun place to eat at on a weekend or after a long days work. The famous slogan really speaks for itself "A fun, casual, joint", but it doesn't happen to mention the delicious food they have available!  We are regular Rooster customers, we usually go a couple of times a month. We usually stick with our favorites from the menu, but you really can't go wrong with anything they have to offer. Whether it's the loaded nachos, a burger, or their tender boneless wings dipped in your choice of TOP OF THE LINE wing sauce, you wont be disappointed. Most of the time we go with the boneless wings drenched in tangy sweet Thai chili sauce. The quality of the meat is unbeatable, but the big kicker for us is the sauce. The sweet...

Picklesburgh!

Pittsburgh, PA is not only a fun city to visit, but they have one of most unique traditions of many, the Picklesburgh pickle festival!! We are huge fans of pickles, and we had a blast on previous travels to Pittsburgh, so this event was perfect for us! In this particular post we are going to be telling you about all of our delicious encounters of Picklesburgh. Picklesburgh has everything pickles! Name it and most likely they have it. Anything from pickle brine chicken, pickle soda, to even pickle moonshine, and pickle cupcakes. We were lucky enough to try a good handful of these pickled creations. When we first arrived in Pittsburgh we kept our eyes peeled for the giant pickle floating in the sky! It was surely there floating above all of the delicious pickle stands and happy festival goers. It had a very fun feel being there because of the fact that it is all located on the famous Roberto Clement Bridge. Our first goal when we arrived was getting a one of a kind selfie with t...

Screendoor, What Mo' Could'ya Ask Fo'

On our Oregon vacation and exploration, we headed out to a specific well known location for breakfast. Screendoor Much like many old fashion restaurants, Screendoor in Portland Oregon is extremely popular. The vibe of the restaurant is very positive, and the decor and atmosphere is warm and makes you feel at home. The lighting of the restaurant is very soft on a beautiful autumn Portland morning, and nothing goes better with a crisp cool fall day than delicious breakfast. We browsed the simple menu, and selected our meals quickly. We had a big day ahead of us. Seth opted for their famous chicken and waffle dish, while I on the other hand went with the Texas Veggie Migas. (I can't ever pass up a good Mexican classic) Chicken and Waffles The presentation of the dish was impressive, the orange peal on top of the portions of breakfast goodness was a gorgeous touch. The chicken was absolutely homemade, hand breaded, and cooked to perfection.  The flavor of the ch...
