Nong's Khao Man Gai will blow you away!

Portland, Oregon is known for its many food trucks and food stands. Portland, Oregon is the home of Nong's Kahn Man Gai which we proudly visited on our trip.  Food trucks are no new thing for us, Seth's father was the founder and executive Chef of the Green Meanie food truck that was formerly located in Columbus, Ohio so we are hip to what a food truck should be like.  We decided to go for the popular choice on the menu which was the Chicken and Rice... CHICKEN AND RICE Chicken on top of a bed of white rice, with a generous portion of cilantro, and a couple slices of cucumber was what we received after ordering. We also got a side of soup and a side of their tangy ginger sauce to go with the chicken. The Chicken was tender, fresh and cooked all the way through. the flavor of the chicken was very tasty along with the rice, cilantro and cucumber. Everything tasted great together but what really set everything to perfection was the ginger sauce. It gave the

Donuts Galore

When visiting Portland Oregon, if there is one thing you cannot pass up, it would be the donut shops.  After trying to figure out which ones we were going to go to during our short time there we decided Voodoo was too famous to not go to, and Pip's. We decided on Pip's because they looked so sweet and small and delicate. We were also going to try and squeeze a third donut shop in, but unfortunately it wasn't possible. VOODOO Voodoo Doughnuts has some of the most beautiful, artsy, humorous and delicious doughnuts that we've had. They are very decently sized and very decently delcious! They have one of the best maple bacon Doughnuts out there and plenty other delicious ones to choose from. This is a must stop if you are in Portland, Oregon. As you can see, this Choclaty fella may look mean but oh boy, was it delcious! We weren't even completely sure if this donut was going to have filling, it did not have filling but it DID NOT even need it

"Tasty N Alder... That's ALDER is to it!"

Oh, Tasty N Alder, you need your own parking lot. After struggling to find a spot in downtown Portland to park on a Friday, we finally stumbled into this small, modern restaurant. We were offered a ready now spot at the bar, or we could wait for an open table. We chose the bar seating because, well, we were hangry.  And being hangry means you don't want to wait on anything. Seth decided on the Steak Tartare, a first for him. And I went with the classic Alder Burger. Steak Tartare Caribenã When we first glanced at the tartare on the menu we weren't too sure because of the simple fact that meat is raw and we have never tasted anything quite like it. It ended up being amazing no matter how odd it may seem. It was delcious quality beef that was seasoned perfectly, plantain chips and an egg yolk on top. Te beef had a rich saltiness that was such a great flavor base for everything on the dish. The plantain chips were crispy and delcious, especially when you

Crazy Dogs Grill, Sure is a Thrill

Were headed into Chilicothe OH and checking out this cute, new, little shop called Crazy Dogs Grill.  We decided to give it a try, cause who doesn't think Hot dogs are perfect for a chill Saturday afternoon? Upon entering you'll be greeted by very nice employees offering to help you find whatever your taste buds desire. They gave us a take home menu after hearing it was our first time here, and let us take our time looking over their menu. Seth opted for the Jersey Dog , and I the Slaw Dog . We also couldn't just pass up hand cut fries, or homemade potato salad. After waiting only a few moments we were presented with our fresh food. Slaw Dog The Slaw Dog is an all beef hot dog with southern style slaw, spicy mustard, and a side of delicious homemade sweet butter pickle chips. Upon first glance you'll notice they are not light on the toppings. Drenched in slaw, this hot dog is delicious. The pickles that were served with it give it a different kin

Screendoor, What Mo' Could'ya Ask Fo'

On our Oregon vacation and exploration, we headed out to a specific well known location for breakfast. Screendoor Much like many old fashion restaurants, Screendoor in Portland Oregon is extremely popular. The vibe of the restaurant is very positive, and the decor and atmosphere is warm and makes you feel at home. The lighting of the restaurant is very soft on a beautiful autumn Portland morning, and nothing goes better with a crisp cool fall day than delicious breakfast. We browsed the simple menu, and selected our meals quickly. We had a big day ahead of us. Seth opted for their famous chicken and waffle dish, while I on the other hand went with the Texas Veggie Migas. (I can't ever pass up a good Mexican classic) Chicken and Waffles The presentation of the dish was impressive, the orange peal on top of the portions of breakfast goodness was a gorgeous touch. The chicken was absolutely homemade, hand breaded, and cooked to perfection.  The flavor of the ch
