Cajun Eats in Short North Columbus - De Levee

If anyone in Ohio is looking for food with a Cajun twist then we may have found the place for you!

Located in Columbus's Short North is Da Levee.

This restaurant has a variety of Cajun dishes such as gumbo, Jambalaya, and chicken creole. They also have some other delicious choices as well.

The interior was decorated with beads, and cool candles scattered on the tables, the restaurant had a very festive vibe. It definitely had a New Orleans type of look to it.

We couldn't decide on which dish to order so we went with the Mt. Po Boy.

If you come to Da Levee looking for a sandwich you cant go wrong with this one, mainly for the fact that it is loaded with a variety of different delicious meats. Cajun food is typically spicy and that's exactly what the Mt. Po Boy sandwich was. And I left out the fact that it was freakin' delicious. This flavor packed sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I've had in a while.

Every bit of meat in this sandwich tasted amazing, the sweetness of the butter bun mixed well with the juicy, spicy, tangy meat. It had the perfect amount of heat that really brings out the flavor of what I believe they were trying to achieve while cooking this sandwich.

Every bite was a soft, spicy, delicious adventure. Yes, you heard right adventure. It was almost like instead of being in Columbus Ohio, our taste buds took us for a trip down to Orleans. Mt Po Boy was served with chips and a pickle. So you can't go wrong for 8 bucks!

Way to go Da Levee! We will definitely be back again soon!

Roosters, it's an Ohio thing!

We are so proud to be from Ohio for so many reasons, and Roosters being one of them! Roosters is a restaurant that only 'Ohioans' or Ohio visitors know about. It's not a five star fancy schmansy restaurant, just a tasty and fun place to eat at on a weekend or after a long days work. The famous slogan really speaks for itself "A fun, casual, joint", but it doesn't happen to mention the delicious food they have available! We are regular Rooster customers, we usually go a couple of times a month. We usually stick with our favorites from the menu, but you really can't go wrong with anything they have to offer. Whether it's the loaded nachos, a burger, or their tender boneless wings dipped in your choice of TOP OF THE LINE wing sauce, you wont be disappointed. Being Ohio natives we were happy to find an independent restaurant near us. It had Great decor, and the restaurant itself had a visually fun and hip/modern look (no surprise here.. most small businesses take this role). The lighting was at a relaxing level, they placed numbers above the tables to try and give a unique look. Enough about the decor though, lets move on to the important Tids! First things first, drink options. They had a small variety of drinks offering the usual selections - Soda, Water, Tea, O-J, Milk. All of you Ohio natives out there, if you havent been to Ale house 1890 in Lancaster Ohio you are definitely missing out. They have wonderful hamburgers and so many to menu items to choose from! All of these burgers are specially made with their own selection of fresh ingredients. They definitely know their way around a burger! The first bite I took I could immediately taste the sweetness of marmalade and the grilled taste of the patty which collided with each other creating a wonderful taste combination.
