10 Jeni's Flavors you Don't Wanna Miss

A take on ten flavors of Jenis, no it did not take us long to make this list.. case in point, Jenis ice cream is fabulous.

10 mouth watering flavors:

(Buttery Popcorn to the left, and Caramel Almond to the right)

Buttery Popcorn
In lamest terms, the best. Seriously. I loved this flavor. I'm not going to say I'm a huge popcorn person, but this definitely put a smile on my face. The ice cream was smooth, yet tasted exactly like kettle corn.

Caramel Almond
I loved the pieces of almond in this flavor. The ice cream itself was okay, really really sweet which is always good.

Ultramarine Blue Buttermilk
Extremely tangy and extremely fruity this flavor of Jenis will not disappoint your taste buds. In fact it's like an explosion of blue, or purple, because it was purple ice cream!

Vanilla Bean
Just as you expect, this flavor is the perfect pairing when you cannot decide from all of the other wonderful flavors, or to tame down another flavor, it was the bees knees!

(Vanilla bean to the left, Ultramarine to the right)

Intelligentsia Black Cat Espresso
Definitely one of my favorites that I have tried from Jenis so far. Such a great coffee flavor. It almost seemed as if there may be actual coffee grounds throughout the ice cream. Don't miss out on this eye opener.

Middle West Whiskey and Pecans
If you love whiskey, or pecans this one may be just for you. Be aware that this ice cream has a strong whiskey flavor. (you won't get drunk from this if that's what you're thinking) Served with large chunks of pecan, this could be a crowd favorite for those who love their ice cream on the wild side.

Brown Butter Almond Brittle
This flavor was simply sweet. I was going to try the gooey butter cake, but they were all out! The honey butter is a sibling of the gooey butter cake I was told, so I went with it. It also was a ice cream that contained bits of nuts and a great crunch from the sweet bits of brittle.

(In front Espresso, to the left Whiskey, and the right Brown Butter)

Atlantic Beach Pie
This flavor was pretty decent, if you're a key lime/lemon pie person. It has the tanginess of citrus and what seemed to be small chunks of pie crust which was a good addition to this ice cream recipe. They pretty much nailed it as it was named!

(In front Sweet Cream, to the left Churro, and Atlantic to the right)

Sweet Cream Biscuits and Peach Jam
This one had a strong taste of cream and a strong tanginess as well. The part of this ice cream I could taste the least was the peach but it wasn't a big disappointment either.

Churro
Another favorite, this ice cream was bursting with sweet cinnamon flavor. The sweetness wasn't too much to handle either. You could taste the cinnamon more than a bunch of sugar which was well appreciated. You can never go wrong with a regular Churro, so this was a very clever ice cream flavor for Jeni's to present with their big selection of signature flavors.

We hope you'll stop in at Jenis and try more of their wonderful flavors! Comment your favorite, or tell us about some you have tried!

Thanks for reading, your's truly,

Roosters, it's an Ohio thing!

We are so proud to be from Ohio for so many reasons, and Roosters being one of them!  Roosters is a restaurant that only 'Ohioans' or Ohio visitors know about. It's not a five star fancy schmansy restaurant, just a tasty and fun place to eat at on a weekend or after a long days work. The famous slogan really speaks for itself "A fun, casual, joint", but it doesn't happen to mention the delicious food they have available!  We are regular Rooster customers, we usually go a couple of times a month. We usually stick with our favorites from the menu, but you really can't go wrong with anything they have to offer. Whether it's the loaded nachos, a burger, or their tender boneless wings dipped in your choice of TOP OF THE LINE wing sauce, you wont be disappointed. Most of the time we go with the boneless wings drenched in tangy sweet Thai chili sauce. The quality of the meat is unbeatable, but the big kicker for us is the sauce. The sweet

Breakfast Time at Table 1

Being Ohio natives we were happy to find an independent restaurant near us. It had Great decor, and the restaurant itself had a visually fun and hip/modern look (no surprise here.. most small businesses take this role). The lighting was at a relaxing level, they placed numbers above the tables to try and give a unique look. Enough about the decor though, lets move on to the important Tids! First things first, drink options. They had a small variety of drinks offering the usual selections - Soda, Water, Tea, O-J, Milk. We decided on getting the Cola, because we had a long drive ahead - we were headed for Amish Country in Millersburg OH. (Blog soon to come..) Our server seemed to be lacking some energy that day as well, I mean it was Saturday. She brought our drinks and we were surprised to see more than a simple cup, Coca-cola served to you in a jar! Enough mumbo about the drinks though, onward to the main course. We both opted for The eggs Benedict. We were unsure o

The Ale House May be Good for Whatever Ails You

All of you Ohio natives out there, if you havent been to Ale house 1890 in Lancaster Ohio you are definitely missing out. They have wonderful hamburgers and so many to menu items to choose from! All of these burgers are specially made with their own selection of fresh ingredients. They definitely know their way around a burger! They also have new specials  pretty frequently such as fried macoroni! (See review for fried Macoroni below!) so go in and don't miss them! Ale House 1890 Our first pick from the menu was the Barnyard Burger.  Barnyard Burger This burger was an absolute taste masterpiece! The first bite I took I could immediately taste the sweetness of marmalade and the grilled taste of the patty which collided with each other creating a  wonderful taste combination. The garlic aoli was a nice touch to the burger as well, better than mayonnaise if you ask me! Also the micro greens was a great bonus to an already delcious sandwich. And what is better on a b
