Houlihans!

Tasty has made its way into Hershey PA, and we have landed at Houlihans!

Houlihans is a modern restaurant and I believe they are actually a smaller chain. When we made it into Hershey it was one of the first places we seen, right across from the Hershey Museum. First we ventured our way through the museum, and then did the taste tour where you make your own chocolate birds nest. After eating our weight in chocolate we walked across to have an early dinner.

We arrived around 430 p.m. and the restaurant was not busy yet, to our surprise. We we’re greeted by friendly and helpful staff and also noticed it was time for their happy hour!

On the happy hour menu you will find small discounted appetizers, and one of my favorites happened to be listed, chicken lettuce cups!

The lettuce cups were very good, and brought out fast. I love it when you get an appetizer before your meal arrives. There’s not much of a point of getting an appetizer if your entree is already coming with it. Kudos Houlihans, Kudos.

After scarfing down every morsel of the lettuce cups, we noticed the restaurant gradually getting fuller and busier. Although business seemed to be picking up, the noise level in the restaurant was actually not too bad. We then moved onto our main entrees.

As for my entree, I selected the Korean Chicken.

The Korean chicken dish is marinated chicken breast in gochujang sauce which is a Korean hot chili paste, charred pineapple brown rice, garlic green beans, and pineapple relish. You can order the chicken grilled or fried. I decided upon the grilled, and the chicken came out perfect.

I really loved all of the flavors individually and both together. The chicken breast was all white meat and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The rice and pineapple was full of flavor. The garlic green beans were good, but I feel like they could have been cooked differently. Some of the green beans were softer than others, and some were kind of tough. That aside, I loved my dish and would definitely order it again.

Seth ordered the Kansas City Burger.

All of the burgers at Houlihans are made with USDA Prime Black Angus ground beef, which is a top grade of ground beef. The beef also comes from corn-fed family farms! The Kansas City burger includes the prime Black Angus burger, topped with smoked pork, brown sugar bacon, crispy onion straws, sharp cheddar and Houlihans house made barbecue sauce!

This big burger was awesome.

Along with the burger they give you a side item choice, including the following as options: French fries, tortilla chips with homemade salsa, beans and rice with jack cheese, or sweet potato fries. I love that Houlihans gives you more of an option with the sides, unlike most chains who assume you want only French fries with your burger.

Although they do offer other sides, Seth did choose the French fries for his side.

Seth ordered his burger medium rare and they cooked it very well.

So as you can tell, Houlihans is a great restaurant in the Hershey area, they have good people working there, and good food. Parking is also very welcoming; they have a huge parking lot right outside of the restaurant.

Till next time, Tasty!

Roosters, it's an Ohio thing!

We are so proud to be from Ohio for so many reasons, and Roosters being one of them!  Roosters is a restaurant that only 'Ohioans' or Ohio visitors know about. It's not a five star fancy schmansy restaurant, just a tasty and fun place to eat at on a weekend or after a long days work. The famous slogan really speaks for itself "A fun, casual, joint", but it doesn't happen to mention the delicious food they have available!  We are regular Rooster customers, we usually go a couple of times a month. We usually stick with our favorites from the menu, but you really can't go wrong with anything they have to offer. Whether it's the loaded nachos, a burger, or their tender boneless wings dipped in your choice of TOP OF THE LINE wing sauce, you wont be disappointed. Most of the time we go with the boneless wings drenched in tangy sweet Thai chili sauce. The quality of the meat is unbeatable, but the big kicker for us is the sauce. The sweet

Breakfast Time at Table 1

Being Ohio natives we were happy to find an independent restaurant near us. It had Great decor, and the restaurant itself had a visually fun and hip/modern look (no surprise here.. most small businesses take this role). The lighting was at a relaxing level, they placed numbers above the tables to try and give a unique look. Enough about the decor though, lets move on to the important Tids! First things first, drink options. They had a small variety of drinks offering the usual selections - Soda, Water, Tea, O-J, Milk. We decided on getting the Cola, because we had a long drive ahead - we were headed for Amish Country in Millersburg OH. (Blog soon to come..) Our server seemed to be lacking some energy that day as well, I mean it was Saturday. She brought our drinks and we were surprised to see more than a simple cup, Coca-cola served to you in a jar! Enough mumbo about the drinks though, onward to the main course. We both opted for The eggs Benedict. We were unsure o

The Ale House May be Good for Whatever Ails You

All of you Ohio natives out there, if you havent been to Ale house 1890 in Lancaster Ohio you are definitely missing out. They have wonderful hamburgers and so many to menu items to choose from! All of these burgers are specially made with their own selection of fresh ingredients. They definitely know their way around a burger! They also have new specials  pretty frequently such as fried macoroni! (See review for fried Macoroni below!) so go in and don't miss them! Ale House 1890 Our first pick from the menu was the Barnyard Burger.  Barnyard Burger This burger was an absolute taste masterpiece! The first bite I took I could immediately taste the sweetness of marmalade and the grilled taste of the patty which collided with each other creating a  wonderful taste combination. The garlic aoli was a nice touch to the burger as well, better than mayonnaise if you ask me! Also the micro greens was a great bonus to an already delcious sandwich. And what is better on a b
