Millstone BBQ the Heart of Logan OH

Here at Tasty Tidbitt we love many different types of food which made us come to our an idea of what our next food review was going to be. We noticed we never have done a barbecue restaurant on the blog so we were very excited to review Millstone Barbecue in Logan, Ohio!

When first walked in we were greeted kindly and had the pleasure of taking in the original southern style decor and atmosphere while we waited to be seated. Another great quality about our entry was the pungent hickory/smoked/bbq scent floating through every inch of the air, which made us even more excited to order.

After being seated and placing our order, we received a basket of 6 fresh and hot mini cornbread muffins. They were soft, sweet and most importantly fresh. This definitely caught us by surprise in a great way.

We proceeded to order, I went with the BBQ Chicken Melt and Seth chose the Texas Beef Brisket

                      BBQ Chicken Melt

Served with 2 chicken breasts, topped with cheese, bacon and smothered in barbecue sauce along with 2 sides, I went for the mashed potatoes and macoroni and cheese. The chicken alone was grilled perfectly, it was juicy, tender, had beautiful grill marks, and had that traditional grill flavor just like you would find at an outdoor barbecue. The bbq sauce at Millstone is delcious, and if the chicken would have actually been cooked in the barbecue sauce it would have made it unbelievable, but it was still decent. The bacon and Cheese gave it a nice touch unsurprisingly. The mashed potatoes were very good as well, mashed potatoes with peel within the potatoes is always something we enjoy. The Macoroni was clearly cooked very well and it was surprisingly tasty!

                      Texas Beef Brisket

A hefty plate of slow cooked Brisket and the choice of 2 sides which were French fries and potato salad. The Brisket was very tender and had a great crispy  well done blackened outer crust that real bbq tends to have. We could definitely tell it cooked for a lengthy amount of time. With a nice splash of the Millstone's signature spicy bbq sauce topped it off greatly. The fries were good of course, it's a little hard to mess up French fries. The thing blew us away was the potato salad. At first glance you expect a regular plain tasting potato salad but we quickly learned that this potato salad was unlike many, it was loaded with bacon and green onion so it was more like a "loaded" potato salad if that speaks to you flavor imaginations. It was DELICIOUS!

We were definitely full from our barbecue dining experience at Millstone. If you go here to eat be ready for a big plate! We will certainly be back for more great barbecue at Millstone.

Until our next review, TASTY!

Roosters, it's an Ohio thing!

We are so proud to be from Ohio for so many reasons, and Roosters being one of them!  Roosters is a restaurant that only 'Ohioans' or Ohio visitors know about. It's not a five star fancy schmansy restaurant, just a tasty and fun place to eat at on a weekend or after a long days work. The famous slogan really speaks for itself "A fun, casual, joint", but it doesn't happen to mention the delicious food they have available!  We are regular Rooster customers, we usually go a couple of times a month. We usually stick with our favorites from the menu, but you really can't go wrong with anything they have to offer. Whether it's the loaded nachos, a burger, or their tender boneless wings dipped in your choice of TOP OF THE LINE wing sauce, you wont be disappointed. Most of the time we go with the boneless wings drenched in tangy sweet Thai chili sauce. The quality of the meat is unbeatable, but the big kicker for us is the sauce. The sweet

Breakfast Time at Table 1

Being Ohio natives we were happy to find an independent restaurant near us. It had Great decor, and the restaurant itself had a visually fun and hip/modern look (no surprise here.. most small businesses take this role). The lighting was at a relaxing level, they placed numbers above the tables to try and give a unique look. Enough about the decor though, lets move on to the important Tids! First things first, drink options. They had a small variety of drinks offering the usual selections - Soda, Water, Tea, O-J, Milk. We decided on getting the Cola, because we had a long drive ahead - we were headed for Amish Country in Millersburg OH. (Blog soon to come..) Our server seemed to be lacking some energy that day as well, I mean it was Saturday. She brought our drinks and we were surprised to see more than a simple cup, Coca-cola served to you in a jar! Enough mumbo about the drinks though, onward to the main course. We both opted for The eggs Benedict. We were unsure o

The Ale House May be Good for Whatever Ails You

All of you Ohio natives out there, if you havent been to Ale house 1890 in Lancaster Ohio you are definitely missing out. They have wonderful hamburgers and so many to menu items to choose from! All of these burgers are specially made with their own selection of fresh ingredients. They definitely know their way around a burger! They also have new specials  pretty frequently such as fried macoroni! (See review for fried Macoroni below!) so go in and don't miss them! Ale House 1890 Our first pick from the menu was the Barnyard Burger.  Barnyard Burger This burger was an absolute taste masterpiece! The first bite I took I could immediately taste the sweetness of marmalade and the grilled taste of the patty which collided with each other creating a  wonderful taste combination. The garlic aoli was a nice touch to the burger as well, better than mayonnaise if you ask me! Also the micro greens was a great bonus to an already delcious sandwich. And what is better on a b
